Why is the spindle on my Sifely-S Smart Lock so loose?

When assembling the Sifely Smart Locks, the spindle (shaft) appears loose. This is not a defect; when the spindle is correctly aligned and inserted through the latch hole (remember to insert it at a square or flat orientation), it will fasten securely and no longer seem loose.
